Come on Jo! I find Svitolina's game so incredibly dull, but I can see how it would frustrate someone with Jo's game.

Svitolina played well. Jo didn't. The unforced error count was horrific and most of those shots missed by miles.

Not the crushing disappointment of her last two Grand Slam exits but Jo Konta eventually out of ideas as she loses 6-4 6-4 to world no. 5 Svitolina.

Definitely played better than at Wimbly. It wasn't far off. Svitolina just ground her down a bit.

(And, yes, flamingowings, can't disagree.....)

I think given Jo's form going into the tournament we'd have taken the QF! Sounds as though she was beaten by the better player on the day.

It's not a specific forum or board but a thread in a forum: digital spy (in sports, there is a tennis thread). More general than here but mainly made up of UK tennis fans (& a Norwegian). Am under a different name there. Quite a few of us Andy fans there. And lots of snark, brutal takes and gifs.

Even with defeat today, JoKo is still on an upward curve. She's been brilliant this year, winning so many matches, and giving us genuine hope of a champion in the womens draw of the Slams. She continues to show our leading youngsters just what is possible at the highest level if they work hard and keep trying to improve their game. JoKo has shown this year that she is a proper top 10 player for sure.
