Superb! Not good for British tennis that her performances are not on terrestrial television. I dont know what the U.K. viewing figures are but pretty certain they will be dire!
I wouldn't be surprised if its better than being on Sky tbh. Due to the range of benefits Prime gives there are a lot of causal sports viewers who wont pay for Sky but have Prime. And with the 30 day trial and the fact you can also just sub to the video part on a month by month basis unlike sky where you have to commit to a base contract and a sports package contract
I think it is better than Sky and BT. You can get easy access to any match you want to watch and it comes far cheaper than either of them.
Now that they have updated the interface, Prime is very easy to use, and I have found the coverage to be excellent (although I presume the actual pictures are the responsibility of the USO). And I particularly like the commentators (apart from the irritating "well, exactly" Mr Rusedski)
So JoKo stands out as being the hitter of the highest number of winners so far
"But if Pliskova has been the most dangerous server in this US Open, then Konta has thumped more winners off the ground than anyone else by an absolute street. So fat this tournament, she has hit 69 off the forehand side and 39 off the backhand, with the second-highest totals standing at 56 and 29 respectively."
From the Daily Telegraph
(Although, of course, if you win in three long sets as opposed to win 0&0, you will almost certainly hit more winners and yet be the worse player)
Must say I've been very impressed with Prime. Easy to use as many have said, and they have every match including the juniors, and is very clear and concise. The uploading of full matches are pretty instant as well which is great as last year you'd often be waiting hours for it.
The only thing I don't really like, which can't really be helped, is the video length stated when catching a replay - there are ways around it, like covering it up when selecting and using your laptop or something as a shield if you want to fast forward between sets, because take last night for example, Stan-Djok after 2 sets was about 1 hr 50 mins or something and the video length was about 2 hr 15 mins, so if you were just watching normally then you would know that a retirement was immentent or Stan won the last set 6-0 in double quick time, whereas a manual record on Sky would remove that issue. It's also not the easiest to FF matches on my TV. While it was quite nice to have matches on ES1 and ES2, when ES had it, I definitely prefer this to the ES and ES Player platform.
"Shes posted more top-10 and top-five wins than any other woman on tour this season, and has risen from 55 to 12 in the world since the start of the year. Her 37 victories, against just 15 losses, place her among the top five on the WTA match-wins leaderboard in 2019 and shes currently No.7 on the Porsche Race to Shenzhen standings."
Bencic beats Osaka 7-5 6-4 and seeded 13 she is the highest seeded/ranked player left in the top half of the draw. She will play (23) Donna Vekic ( beat Goerges ) in the QF.
Ash Barty will return to WR 1 as Pliskova, Osaka and her all drop out at the L16 stage

It's either going to be '24' or a brand new slam champ, as Serena is now the only one of the remaining 10 to have won one.
Vekic-Goerges was quite exciting - mainly on Goerges' racket until she served for it at *5-3 second set, but then her serve, which was great pretty much all match, fell apart and she lost the final 4 games to take it to a decider. Pleased for Donna, she always seems to lose close big 3 set matches, pretty much the opposite of Jo (this season), and this is her first slam QF.
From a personal perspective, not necessarily a Konta one, I'd be happy with any of Vekic, Bencic or Andreescu making the final.

The issue for a great many people is not the quality of coverage but the moral dilemma of supporting a company such as Amazon who still have not provided answers to a great many questions. Personally I think it a great shame they have been allowed near any sporting event.
Tennis in the Uk faces a real issue with access to matches on terrestial TV. If you are a young girl in the UK today I would say you are far more likely to take up football, following the excellent BBC coverage. I would hope for eg that the next round of the Fed Cup could be shown on free to air TV.
Anyway enough of my posturing and just a huge well done to Jo. Fingers crossed she can go further though it will be tough. Looks very much like a Williams procession to me especially with her incredibly easy draw she was afforded. The other half is fascinating. Not sure Andreescu will find it that easy tonight.

Other sports have disappeared off the terrestial channels as well. For instance there is no live golf shown on TV for the 1st time since 1955 and boxing disappeared off terrestial TV along time ago. I was a sceptic about Amazon but glad I got it for the US Open. The choice of matches is simply greater than on previous channels and you don't get adverts. Children will take up sports if there are heroes and heroines for them to follow.

Yes to be fair, despite me pointing to (13) Bencic being the highest seed left in the top half it is still a very interesting half and Bencic and Andreescu fit and on form are relatively stronger players than their already very decent rankings suggest, with good achievements this year. They are very worthy of Slam late stages. Bencic vs Vekic will be interesting too.

Yeah, I think Bencic-Andreescu is a legit sound slam semi final. Both have won big titles this season as you reference, and both have great records against top 10 players this season - Belinda has 9 wins, while Andreescu is 7-0, and the latter in particular would have surely been ranked much higher had she not have missed so much of the season, whereas Bencic's past injuries have been well documented - she looked a bit injured and not right in her first 2 matches here, but seemed more than fine today, so hopefully that Kontaveit R3 walkover, and extra recovery time, sorted anything that was up - she did retire in her last match at Cincy leading into this.
Still a combined 3 matches to negotiate before that happens, but I'd really like to see it. Both still young which is a bonus as well in terms of the future. Not necessarily relevant, but I think they look quite similar as well.
Much prefer the women's matches to start the night session, which to be fair, they have for the majority of the tournament.
This Nadal match could be over not much after 2am, but any later than that and it's pushing it to be up for 8am, but much more chance to watch a women's match to a conclusion and still be able to get a solid 6 hours sleep, and I was hoping to watch Andreescu-Townsend live. Serena-Wang is scheduled to be on at midnight tomorrow.
