Week 35/36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

Yes, indeed was a double mini break down since it was 1-4*. Also I believe Barrere earlier served for the match at 5-4 up ( ah, I missed Jajon saying Barrere served for it and had MPs ).

6-7(4) 4-6 6-4 7-6(5)

Final set ...

I'll be honest, it's quite low down on the priorities for me at the moment, but Cam is about to serve for the match (I'll see if he can do that though...)

He had his chances - plenty of them - & blew them all!   cry  Sickening...  Clearly no Ben Stokes!

Bah

Well they both had their chances, Barrere major ones at 2 sets to 1 up and MPs while serving for it at *5-4 up in the 4th set.

But having fought back to 2 sets all, got to be a big disappointment to serve for the match twice. Serving for it at *6-5 he was broken to love and then went 1-6* down in the TB.

Of course re Ben Stokes, truly magnificent memorable rescue effort but he did at the climax essentially blow it with just 2 runs needed. A swing, a miss, LBW, but was saved by an erring West Indian umpire.

Only saw bits of this match, but Barrere was absolutely smashing winners from all over the court.

Cam lost the first set and has been behind so far in the first game of the second set. I predict a French win if this carries on.

Not been following it, how is Cam playing? I see Barrere was on the Glasgow entry list you posted and my guess is that he is quite happy on faster courts. Cam seems to have hit that second season rut IMO and i suspect it may need the winter off to get some good training in and get back to it again.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the Glasgow entry list please?

Well done to quali wildcard, Jenson Brooksby, age 18, one year out of juniors, and never even a top-50 junior player, who came through qualis and now has taken out Berdych.

Steady and comfortable start for Kyle, 6-3 2-0 currently. Nice easy 3 setter would be a big bonus
