Good point Indiana - that is a fantastic Grand Slam qualifying record of 6-0 this year from Harriet. She did so well, and yes her battling qualities are fantastic and will stand her in great stead as her career progresses.
In the main draw, there are four slots for qualifiers to face qualifiers and another 6 slots to face non-seeds. The other nine slots are against seeds.
Well Xiyu will certainly be one of the 6 in LL contention, so maybe she will end up in anyway, and who knows, with at least 2 Q/LL vs Q/LL slots, maybe we will get the Xinyu-Xiyu derby - the US Open do obviously like a noteworthy tie or two. Or maybe we will get a repeat match for Harriet.
I thought it was 12.30am for some reason, not 11.30 - I'll watch the final 2 Q matches to a conclusion and hopefully find out who Harriet has before I go to bed.
Doesn't really matter now in terms of the LL situation from our perspective, but just generally, Kalinskaya and Muhammed have just gone into a 3rd set and Gibbs is 5-4 30-0* with Peng, hoping to do the same and take it into a decider.
Edit - Gibbs-Peng also now into a decider, so 2 full sets in 2 matches to play before all Q matches have finished. Had Harriet have lost, we'd have been chuffed that the seeded Kalinskaya and Gibbs both took their respective 2nd sets. I still hope they both win personally.

Haven't seen it reported elsewhere, but Stu Fraser reports in The Times that Katie Swan was injured for her QR1 match
"Swan out for a month
It is not the best of times for British tennis players named Katie. A 6-3, 6-3 defeat for Katie Swan by Katrina Scott, a 15-year-old American junior ranked No 1,042, in the first round of US Open qualifying had some of her supporters speculating whether she was injured, and confirmation of this has now come. The 20-year-old will be out of action for a month because of an issue with her left foot."
So of our 5 rising young GB top 10 players of last year, Gabi is coming back from injury, Katie B is injured, Katie S has just got injured, Katy D is missing, injured?
Looking increasingly likely that it will be Peng and Kalinskaya entering the main draw, both in commanding positions, so might not be too long until we find out where the Qs and LLs are placed.
Wow, Peng was massively cramping towards the end and could barely move, but still managed to break Gibbs to love to qualify. Muhammed is now back on serve vs Kalinskaya at *4-5, so maybe some more life in that.
So, Rybakina , Frech, Cepelova, Peng, Larsson, Dolehide, Bogdan, Bolkvadze , Allertova, Dart , Babos, Hogenkamp, Townsend, Wang Xinyu, Martincova are all through. Muhammed-Kalinskaya still TBC
Badosa, Flipkens, Wang Xiyu, Lepchenko, Gibbs and Hon in the LL hat at the moment and will be if Kalinskaya wins, but not sure who is in out of Gibbs and Hon if Muhammed wins and Kalinskaya joins the LL pot as Gibbs was 24th seed to Hon's 25, but Hon is ranked higher in the current WTA rankings.
Kalinskaya won on a deciding set TB (wasted about 6 MPs before then), so the 6 in the LL pot should be Badosa, Flipkens, Wang, Lepchenko, Gibbs and Hon - Dart would have sneaked into 6th place had she lost after all, but would have missed out had Kalinskaya lost, fine margins - but obviously not needed.
I'll stay up until around 1.30 - hopefully I know where the Qs have been placed by then.

Bogdan may only be a qualifier and it was a tight match for her to qualify at that, but she is a really good player, so I don't think it is a gimmie.... on the other hand, it could have been Halep or Pliskova.
Or Bertens, or Kvitova, or Vekic. Not a foregone conclusion by any means, probably 50/50 at best, but could have been far far worse. You'd like to include Stephens in that list, but that may actually have been an opportunity the way Sloane has played these past few months.
