Bambo and Maclachlan lost sadly, in a MTB, to their Belgian opponents. To be fair, the Belgians seem to be doing quite well currently. Could Belgium be the new Netherlands, that is the question folks are asking...

Is it really?  I, for one, couldn't care less!  For the record:

QF:  Sander Gille & Joran Vliegen (BEL/BEL) CR 105 (59+46) defeated Luke Bambridge & Ben McLachlan (JPN) CR 98 (56+42) by 2-6 7-6(4) [10-7]  cry

I was being ironic...maybe it didnt work. Are you American , SC ??!

It didn't, at least not from my perspective, & I most certainly am not!

Yes you certainly did Jon! biggrinbiggrin

You should have asked a Dutch or even French person.. and both would have laughed uproariously. But football yes, they can most decidedly play

Jamie & Neal are the last Brits standing in the doubles:

QF:  Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski CR 56 (20+36) defeated Oliver Marach & Jürgen Melzer (AUT/AUT) CR 58 (20+38) by 4-6 7-6(5) [10-7]  smile

QF:  (WC) Nicholas Monroe & Tennys Sandgren (USA/USA) CR 262 (119+143) defeated (2) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 43 (18+25) by 3 & 3  bleh

*****

SF:  (1) Lukasz Kubot & Marcelo Melo (POL/BRA) CR 9 (WR 4+5) vs Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski CR 56 (20+36)

Are they starting to click at last?

Looks as if they were clicking better than Joe & Rajeev with their rather surprising scoreline.

Anyway, saved from a full house of having reps in every QF and losing every QF.

I was amazed at the gap Neal has at 36th in the rankings to Chardy who is above him, almost 500 points. It would take a massive US Open to get anywhere for him. Above him, players cluster much more closely but then suddenly this massive gap. Must be a little dispiriting and hopefully some of those above will drop a bit to help him progress.

If Neal and Jamie win their semi, Jamie will move back into a top 20 live place whilst Neal will stay as he is
