For the record:

L32:  Steve Johnson (USA) WR 82 defeated (5) Daniel Evans WR 44 by 3 & 1  cry

Can't see him winning his doubles match...

At least we have 6 brits into doubles last 8, dan and jonny won, joe through and jamie and neal, joining luke.

Singles feels rather depressing right now

We had 2 reps in the singles - Andy on a comeback that nobody has tried before and Dan. It is the week before a slam. I am going to go with, it's going to be ok.

Blimey, I wasn't expecting Dan to exit like that. Did anyone watch the match? What happened?

Based on his reasons for parting with David Felgate, it would appear he is trying new things... and they aren't working yet.

Hopefully he will raise himself several levels with Leon in his box in New York

I think we also have to respect the fact that Steve Johnson is a much better player than his WR 82 would suggest. I would have expected a closer match but the result is not that much of a shock in my opinion.

Ken has really struggled since Neal joined Jamie.

Daniell's a decent doubles player.  It may pay Ken to persevere with him (they're apparently playing together at the USO, too) following his split with Koolhof to see whether they can click & get a bit of momentum going.  Fingers crossed anyway.

Bambo and Maclachlan lost sadly, in a MTB, to their Belgian opponents. To be fair, the Belgians seem to be doing quite well currently. Could Belgium be the new Netherlands, that is the question folks are asking...

Is it really?  I, for one, couldn't care less!  For the record:
