What a brilliant win for Heather. A bit of a wobble at 4-2 had me worried, but she fought back bravely, like the Heather of old. I hope she can take this form into the US Open qualies next week and continue climbing back towards the top 100.
This win finally takes Heather into positive points territory for the week, and up to LR 101. So, if she can manage one of two wins in US Open qualifying - and with that draw she should - it should lift her back into the top 100 again. That would be some comeback given that if she had lost in the first round in Vancouver, Heather would be WR 130 next week.

Hev came through qualifying at last year's US Open for 40 points so would have to repeat that to stay on the same points. Also the week after the US Open she has 110 points coming off from a SF at last year's Quebec City WTA International. Though then less than 60 points due off in total over the remainder of the year.
Hopefully though she will add new wins and points in the coming weeks

Ah yes, not looking ahead enough Ok, well still it's been a good week and yes, let's hope she can still keep winning a few. But it would seem indeed that she has still a way to go to get back into the top 100
