Hm. USO qualies are round the corner and he is playing on clay in Europe. I would be happy if he won a match so he can get to the US and start acclimatising.

Jay's recent scheduling has been wholly baffling. As though he is paying penance for his crassness at Wimbledon. But why he hasn't been playing challengers in North America, seems a significant scheduling error, not least because he hasn't picked up points in Europe either.

And he has a great chance to fill his boots over the next few months with very little to defend so needs to grasp it with both hands.

You sure about that SC? According to ATP/WTA live scores Fanselow has lost to Scott Griekspoor who should now play Jay.

I was when I posted that, but I didn't have the ATP live scoreboard running.  It's been corrected now, but SofaScore had it the wrong way round!

No immediate sign of improvement in Jay's disappointing recent form as the first set goes begging 3-6....

Edit - and has now dropped serve early in the second, 1-2*....

I have watched about 10 random points so far and I am not sure I have seen Griekspoor miss a single shot so far. Perhaps Jay could be a bit more proactive, but his opponent is giving him nothing.
