Medvedev! What a guy!

3-6 3-3 0-30 down, having had an MTO for a bicep injury, and then just absolutely went for everything and ended up winning 3-6 6-3 6-3. Incredible.

I'll be tuning into the final now. 3rd final in 3 weeks for him - hope he can get the win this time.

Amongst all that, Ace, you forgot to mention that the win was against Djoko!  biggrin

Final: Medvedev vs Goffin.

Will take that. I like Goffin too and who could forget that awful eye injury and tripping over the box at the FO but it would be super if Medvedev could get the title this time.

On paper an okay final, but I cannot help but be concerned by the allegations Vandenburg made about Medvedev last week. There is precious little smoke without fire.

Did I miss something ?  I haven't seen anything by Vandy about Medvedev and I just looked through last weeks thread.  Perhaps it was somewhere else ?

It was on page 2 of this thread. I don't know if it's just me, but I sometimes think there duplicate accounts on this forum.

Yes, and in this modern day and age of social media and face news there are smoke bombs all over the place, often with precious little fire, so the old adage has been rather turned on its head.

And Dodig & Polasek go on to beat Cabal & Farah by 4-6 6-4 [10-6] to take the title.

Oleg S. @AnnaK_4ever

Safe to say Filip Polasek is very very happy to win his first Masters title in his first Masters final at the age of 34. What a story! Had a solid doubles career in late 2000s - early 2010s, had to stop for 5 years because of injury, became a coach, returned in 2018 and now this.

Good stuff!

Also, I had my doubts that Jamie would defend much of his title points from last year so yay for proving me wrong. With a loss here, he would've dropped out the top 20 in rankings, the first time since summer of 2015 (I think - or maybe it was '16 the comms said).

Even reaching the SF Jamie has ended up outside the top 20, at WR 21. This is indeed the first time he has been outside the top 20 since June 2015.

Andy's QF has taken him into the doubles top 100, at WR 89.
