I don't mind others putting the odds, I often check the odds for all sorts of things, other sport and politics for example, as bookies are rarely wrong! Equally I thought I would share my opinion that I thought this match looked like the 50:50 that someone mentioned rather than the 1:9 from the bookies. Although Emily finally won the match the closeness of it, and particularly saving 4 mp, surely makes 50:50 seem about right. There is a certain amount of fortune involved in saving multiple mp after all, could be a net cord for instance. Apologies to anyone who put their 50p (or more) on the LL!
Just to be clear, I was joking with the justified 1/9 part and absolutely, the way it played out, you'd think it would be more of a 4/5 vs 10/11 or 4/6 vs 11/10 type of match, so your insight was certainly closer than the bookies, and Andre was in such a commanding position towards the end, that there was a chance you could guarantee profit if you wanted to.
I was just thinking more generally, e.g. my mother isn't into tennis, but she doesn't really like gambling, and I was just thinking others might be the same and it might spoil their experience in some way, which I wouldn't want.
I think the way you do it is ok Ace. I'm not into gambling for various reasons, and often just skip these more detailed posts of yours. I do find them find them interesting at times in terms of who is seen as the favourite in a match and by how much, and that's fine. Like everyone else I can choose what I want to read and what I'm less interested in, and there is nothing off putting about how you post them
Anyone who's down there today should have a quick reccy at Alice Gillan's opponent, Zheng. She's the 2002-born girl who made the semis at RG, beating Joanna Garland, lost to Cori Gauff 4-6 in the third in the Orange Bowl, is a top 10 junior - be interesting to see where she's at.
NB I think betting odds are interesting - it shows what the (betting) world at large think of the match, not just the tennis forum few, who may well be overly optimistic, or maybe rightly optimistic, or whatever..... How people use the information (or ignore it completely) is up to them - but it's precisely that, information.
Here's hoping Naithka does the business, swiftly and convincingly.
And that Kerkhove is feeling a little tired and doesn't want to hog all the limelight in our local events .....
And that Ola makes life very difficult for Lily, as she has the capacity to do
And that Alic'es young opponent has a 'young' moment ...
Much needed toilet break - presumably Naithka. It'll take the best part of 10 minutes as the changing rooms are a distance from the court - time to reset the brain.
I don't know what's happened to Naiktha, but she seems to have lost her capacity to win matches since becoming British again... Not sure what happened to her mojo but hope she refinds it, she's gotta do better than this.
Looks like she's listened to us. Been away for about 30 mins and in that time, she's on the brink of winning the second 6-0. Even Alice had managed to string 4 games together, so 9 games in a row between them, but just now Zheng has broken back, to get back on serve (4-3*) - I must be an unlucky omen.
Thought live scores suddenly stopped, but a rain delay.

Ace, I know how you feel. I said to Beth yesterday afternoon that I made a point of NOT watching her match, as she always loses when I do. Didn't help though, although she did take a set of WR217
