Anton takes the first set against the bloody Dutchman by 6-4. Keep it going, lad. Don't let the bugger back in, as Emile, Charles & Quentin Robert all did!

Anton though *1-4 down in the final set to the Dutch gentleman.
Rain has stopped play in that match, with Anton back in it: *3-4, 40-40.
Priesty: if you did German at school, you will no doubt remember that the letter "j" is pronounced as a "y", so "Jurij" = (representation) YOO-ree (although he was born in Germany, he is presumably of Slav/other eastern European parentage, but the rule still applies).

And the bugger duly takes the second by 6-1.
Bugger, bugger, bugger! Anton's resistance crumbles after play resumes:
SF: (2) Igor Sijsling (NED) WR 387 defeated (WC) Anton Matusevich WR 1223 by 4-6 6-1 6-4
Over to you, Jack.

Final: (5) Jack Draper WR 430 vs (2) Igor Sijsling (NED) WR 387
Can Jack send the Jurij out? Will be interesting to see how the case goes....
That only works if you pronounce "Jurij" as a monolingual Brit would, but, either way, yes, he can!
SF: (5) Jack Draper WR 430 defeated (1) Jurij Rodionov (AUT) WR 317 by 1 & 4
Surely a monolingual brit would pronounce it with the j sound at the end too making it not sound like jury? I think takes an appreciation of both languages to get the joke

Just looked back at results: since Feb 19 when Hoyt beat him in Barnstaple Sijsling has beaten (in order after Feb) Glasspool, Hoyt, Broady, Hodkin, Hurrion, Peniston, Hudd, Broom and Matusevich. A number of those have been close or very close. Time for a GB win I think!
