Many thanks AV. Lets hope for a comprehensive win for Katie.
Indeed FBB. I'd take any win after Woking earlier, but a nice routine 6-2 6-2 in an hour or so would be fantastic, so I'd get to see it all.
Great start. *1-0.
The commentator says that Katies coach Diego said it's important for Katie to keep the opponent on the run. I thought in her last match in Ashland against Perez she hit quite a lot back to Perez rather than playing to the lines.
Katie takes the 1st set 6-2. Playing well, very calm and consistent, if a little conservative. Wool**** nervous on serve. Katie's 1st serve is better than in her last outing against Perez in Ashland, but then she isn't being pushed as hard and the conditions aren't nearly as hot and humid in Lexington.
Enjoyed that, nice streaming service, and Katie played well and yes, that winner for 5-1 was superb. Helped out a bit by Woolc0ck, who was quite limited (first time I've seem her though), but general good signs overall I thought.
It's Y Zhang next, that's who Maia beat in the semi final of the recent South Korea W25, so a great chance there, and I didn't realise that Katie was in Ponchet's quarter - Jessika (top seed) was the only seed not to advance, after she retired, so the draw has opened up a bit for Katie, and let's hope she can take advantage and make another semi final (and maybe more), although one match at a time of course, starting with the Chinese player (who also won via a retirement).
Quite enjoyed the commentating as well. It wasn't really describing the action, more telling back stories of the players and tournament facts and stuff, a bit like someone reading off Wikipedia, but it was a nice change and although I knew all about Katie's stories, it was quite interesting hearing about Woolc0ck and her college career. Oh and it's just 1.54, could have been worse.
Yesterday during the last round of qualifying for Lexington 60k tournament the coolest thing happened to me. Spencer, who is 9 years old, was a ball boy on my court and in super humid conditions was doing a great https://t.co/UNkivaaEhk

Good to see Katie getting some consistency with results. Hopefully this is building her confidence so that eventually we'll see a rise back up into the top 200, then top 150 and beyond.
Katie is on the same court at the same time tonight, so midnight again (or maybe nearer 12.30am when it actually started last night). I presume the same streaming service will be available again. Probably best that she does get the longest turnaround possible, but unless she wraps it up in around 1 hr 14 mins again, it really does make it hard to watch to a conclusion starting at that time.
