This is actually much closer than anticipated. Lots of very long games.

Em missed 4 break points in a 5 deuce game and there's a MTO

Main draw is out and Katie is 8th seed and has Aussie Belinda Wool**** in R1.

Such a bizarre match. Was a break up at *3-2 then went 3-5* down, now *5-6.

Not sure why this is such a struggle, Em doesn't appear able to hit through the ball properly though.

Another tough draw for Emily. But Katie Swan beat Li last week in Li's first tournament since QR1 at Wimbledon, so you never know.

The 5 points (nett 4) for qualifying will be welcome anyway

Well done to Em. Being q3 seed in a W60 when outside the top 500 strikes me as a rather weak draw. But you've got to be in it to win it, well to qualify anyway.
