As paulisi says, and I'd mentioned too, it's a real shame that more of the British girls didn't enter here.

There are 6 BYES - six !

Anyone could have turned up and got a place.

And Dublin is so close to anyone who lives near an airport (or ferry terminal).

And in the middle of summer.

It's really weird that everyone claims we need more low level events and yet these (that are practically home events) aren't even filled up

(And, yes, obviously, it's partly because there;s the Woking event too, which makes sense for anyone in the south-east, or slightly higher level. But for anyone being serious, Dublin may well have been a far better option).

Yes. There were additional names on the acceptance list :

Ellie Tsimbilakis , Grace Emma Eland , Mayela Bassega and Naomi Jackson

Why did so many not turn up when given a chance? It makes no sense.

Bet Natasha's coach has a sly smile......

Great chance for another 'proper' WTA point for Tanysha.

I think she's already got three old-style WTA counters but more points would be good.

Just to add to Peter's info above, all three girls are still juniors:

Chloe and Holly are born 2002, and Tanysha is born 2001.

Haven't been looking because my little friendly Bet365 account doesn't work where I am at the moment BIG SAD FACE

But just gone and looked and found, not surprisignly, that Tanysha is a strong favourite.

And, yes, Chloe is 8:1 - surely that must be a record high for any second seed playing a qualifier?

However, Holly is favourite just, which is good to see.

Bad luck for Holly, a disaster for Chloe frankly, and a great result for Tanysha. I don't know much about her, she's young. What are her chances of progressing generally in the game?
