Really intrigued to see how Jubb-Draper goes tomorrow. Bookies have Paul 4/5 and Jack 10/11, and that literally couldn't be any closer unless they were priced exactly the same - Paul the ever so slight favourite. A shame it wasn't the final in some ways, not to take anything away from the other 2 semi finalists.
Mr Daniel Cuckierman, the qualifier from Israel, very kindly single-handedly took out three Frenchmen - and well done, that man!
But he's now beating up our Ali Gray rather (although it's early days, 0-3). Which is not the same and has to be stopped !
Cuckierman's an interesting case - he had to spend three years in the Israeli army, from 18-21, and then went off to US college at 22 (he's about 24 now). He's at the Uni of Southern California. So he's behind the curve a bit (and didn't play any ITF juniors at all, from what I can see).
But he's obviously a very decent player. He says:
"In 2016, I beat Amir Weintraub, who is 160 in the world, at the Israel Championship. I lost in the finals to the #17 in the world"
However, if he could kindly rein it in a bit now, that would be appreciated.....
