Week 31 - ITF (W25) Woking, Great Britain Hard

17 Brits involved in the doubles and looks like Eden is partnering Beth, despite being a late withdrawal for Chiswick singles next week.

Camille was putting up a really good fight and had *4-3 vs Adler, but after being pegged back to 5-5, has lost 4 games in a row and is a set and break down now.

Freya 6-3 1-0*. Ola and Grace yet to play.

One guaranteed qualifier in Freya's quarter and given Freya's form, it could be any of them.

Freya heard you smile

Freya won her FQR 6-3 6-0

So she won her two matches with the loss of only 4 games.

Go, Freya !

Grace was up a break previously and broken back immediately, she had 5-5 40-0*, but the Aussie has just saved 3 succsessive BPs to get it back to deuce.

Big hold from Da Silva Fick and may prove decisive. *5-6.

Poor Grace, lost the TB 7-9. Didn't have a set point opportunity.

Tough on Ali and Holly, but someone had to get those draws, pity that the non-Brits didn't end up there.
Should be a few wins amongst the rest, fingers crossed.

7 of the top 8 Q seeds qualified, the only one who didn't was one of the Mordergers who lost to their twin, so there will be some fairly tough qualifiers like Zheng, Garland, and dare I say Freya, but for 5 to have drawn qualifiers is generally pretty good (considering all the MDWCs were British, so it's not as if they could draw a 'weak' MDWC like in overseas ITF events). Also an IR in Kempen who SBG beat about 2 weeks ago, so you'd hope Lissey would have a chance there.

A couple have drawn seeds which was always likely, and Georges was involved in a long 3 set W25 final yesterday and as we've seen with Jodie this year, losing to Noel and Papamichael after success the week before, it can be hard to put together back to back solid weeks at this level. That said, Ali's result last week doesn't fill you with too much hope that she might be able to take advantage of any possible opportunity. Cascino just sneaked into the main draw after withdrawals and is outside the top 500, so all in all, I think it could have been far worse.

I'm quite looking forward to Angelica vs Mandy. Although Angelica is off to college soon, so wins aren't that essential, and short term Mandy would probably benefit more, I'd quite like to see Angelica continue her momentum from the British tour and pull that off. Mandy is of course directly coming into this on the back of a 0-6 0-6 hammering, albeit after a successful few weeks prior to that.

Anyone know if any of the main draw matches will be streamed?
