Yes, and even better now smile

6-2 in the third.

Well done, Liam - he worked hard for that - harder than the score gives out - applied himself really well.

Yeah, but it was a good set, I thought.

Cressey is a big guy, very powerful play. And Even was holding his own for most of it, and smoking some balls himself.

Snippets from Liam's interview with Mike C during Evan's match:

"it was tricky match, started quite slow today but I managed "to grind it out"........

the new rankings affected my scheduling, I felt I couldn't play futures, couldn't defend my title in the Challengers because I didn't make the cut. I might get penalised now as we go back the other way. But if you're good enough, you're good enough.

I changed to Babolat racket a couple of months ago - still getting used to it - but not such a 'dead' racket as the radicals.

Evan is at Soto at the moment - very professional - very uninhibited - aggressive"

Liam also says he's travelling with Samm Butler who's 'retired' from pro play and gone into coaching.

So they're going together, as friend primarily, believes that a 'happy player is a confident player', but also as a coach. He keeps me calm.

Yes, no BPs in the second set ( Evan has yet to have one ) but competitive effort ( and FWIW has actually scored a point more overall in the match ).

According to OER live rankings, Liam and Jan C ( both through to their L16s ) are involved in an epic battle for the GB #6 position in the shiney new 05/08 rankings. OK, they are close and still outside the top 250 ...

269. Liam 161 points
271. Jan 160
