Yes and typical luck the way the draw has opened up for Kyle

He certainly put up a good fight in that last game. Always wondered why Gojowczyk wasn't higher ranked but didn't realise he'd been as high as 39.

Yep. Saved at least 4 MPs and had a BP in that last game.  As was the case for much of the match with Tsonga yesterday (didn't check the final stats), if you take away the Aces, Kyle won more points than his opponent.

Yes but aces count as points just as much as any other winning points as John Isner's bank balance happpily testifies to. If you are behind in one way of winning points then you generally have to more than make up for that in other ways. Kyle didn't today and ultimately fell a bit short.

But some decent matches under his belt for Kyle. Hope he has come out of them fit and healthy and feeling good about the coming weeks

QF:   Andy Murray & Jamie Murray CR 139 (131+8) lost to (3) Raven Klaasen & Michael Venus (RSA/NZL) CR 20 (9+11) by  6-7(3) 7-6(6) [10-7]

Only one BP in the match and that not converted by Klaasen & Venus. Clearly the boys must have been very close to victory in the 2nd set TB at least.

Jamie will drop out of the top 10, to WR 11 at best, now behind Klaasen and Venus, and also Mektic. He has nothing to defend next week but then 1,000 title points in Cincinnatti.

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" If Andy & Jamie Murray lose in a match tiebreak, but the ATP dont stream it so no one is around to watch, did they really lose? #CitiOpen

Nicholas Kyrgios through to the semis, which in itself is great news for the game of tennis. Throw in Stefanos Tsitsipas and it becomes unmissable.

Nicholas has drawn Kyle in R1 in the Montreal Masters.

Maybe not the best for Kyle, assuming Nick plays Canada, but if Nick can carry this form through to the US Open, then he's got to be a legit threat, probably the most likely outside the big 3. He did quite well against Nadal, but had no real grass form going into Wimbledon. He's playing really well and having a great time here vs Tsitsi. Stefanos has only won 5 points in 6 NK service games, and Nick got the early break in both sets.

Mind, just as I type this out, he's facing his first BPs and getting angry with the crowd, ha. Was tempted just to scrap the post.

And now broken, out of nowhere...match on I guess.

Point penalty and getting absolutely irate. Must watch stuff.

Ha ha, that's Nick for you.

Nick is so generally underachieving for a guy with his ability. The biggest obstacle to Nick achieving much more is Nick.

Broken again. 6-4 2-4*

Ha, should have learnt the ticking time bomb was always going to go off, he'll always be one of my faves, but I still didn't see this coming. Literally high fiving all the crowd, serving superbly, absolutely loving it, and then a mess in about 10 mins. Tsitsi was 12/1 in play when I was typing that first post out, he was 8/13 fave before this last NK service game.

Was hoping Nick would have had it wrapped up by now, but I'll have to see the decider (assuming it does go the distance). Might already have with Amazon a few points behind.

Tsitsipas serves 3 aces in a game so Kyrgios follows suit. 15 aces to 11 overall to Nick.

Kyrgios 6-4 3-6 2-1* Tsitsipas
