Another strong week for Stuart. Personally I can't wait for the rankings to revert to the old system so I can get my head around where players such as Stuart really sit.

Yes, absolutely. To both points.

Great to see our Frenchie/GB/Channel Island man doing well, I always root for him, as you know.

And, yes, won't it be wonderful when they're all on a level playing field again and we don't have to do this silly dance to try and compare one player with another....

A year or so back, I was always following the rankings with huge interest, especially at the lower end.  #20inTop500 and all that.  Over this last twelve months, I have completely lost track/interest in everything but those in the top 100 or so.  The current rankings simply don't reflect accurately a players level. It is more about tournament selection and strategy.

Someone please tell me, what date is normality restored ?  It's not long now, I think.

Just one week Bob, thankfully. 5th August the rankings are combined again smile

All good - our Stu can now concentrate on his singles......

The lad he's playing was number one in the world in juniors last year, so it's a big ask !

However, he hasn't got an ATP ranking yet, although he'll have a nice one in a week or so as he's won a couple of 15ks, and made the final and semis in several too.

You don't get to be the top junior for nothing.......

Yes, similarish to Bob, this forum in the past so heightened my interest in lower ranked players, but since the ATP/ITF split rankings I have essentially just followed ATP rankings.

While noting other results they have had much less relevance to me since I have never particularly followed the ITF rankings. They have known flaws ( or at least in supposedly ranking  players from so many different circumstances re their 15K and 25K involvement, had to be taken with a huge pinch of salt ) and frankly I couldn't be bothered following 2 sets of rankings so just followed the much more important and truer ones.

Now I am enthused enough again to chart our projected top 30 men for 05/08 and 12/08 in the upcoming new ATP rankings ( and all our WTA ranked women ).

And the exciting news is that Stuart appears to have taken over as projected GB #30 from Billy Harris, each on 9 points  wink

Now let"s one day be having 20 in the top 500! ( it looks like we will resume with 14 in the top 500 on 05/08 ). OK, some in the top 50 too.

I do so love Steven's positive take on everything:

Tabarka M15 SF: It took a former world junior no. 1 to end Stuart Parker's career best M15 run in Tunisia - top seed Sebastián Báez ARG UNR (CH 853 in 2018; ITF WR 219) won 1&3 , though that's only the first time this week anyone has taken a least a game off Báez in both sets!

Hope you're doing well, steven !

Indeed.

Mine of information. Plus accentuates the positives without ya ya bulls***ting while reporting but not dwelling on negative results.

Was great, a while ago now, when Katy D and Beth got a chance to show their appreciation in person when they found and outed him. I suspect that they are two of quite a number of players.
