Amelia going one from one pro's little sister to another. No doubt this next match will be far tougher.

Thanks for the extra information - I wondered if Lia was Sesil's sister but didn't bother to check. It would be quite an unusual double if Millie pulls it off

Lui completes a GB complete sweep in singles on day 1

Lui Maxted d. Alejandro Turriziani Alvarez (ESP) 7-5 4-6 6-3

R2

I don't think there are ITF junior ranking points for the U16 or the U14

There are obviously for the U18 as it's a JB1 event.

(PS I assume there are Tennis Europe points for the U16s and U14s, but haven't checked)

There are big Tennis Europe points (roughly double a Category 1 tournament) . Teodorovic was seeded because of his high TE16 ranking - but Lui has a much higher ITF ranking, and came through.  A rude comeuppance for Millie. Kylie takes on a German ranked just outside 100 ITF after a consistent series of quarters/semis this year

Boys R2

Lui Maxted d. (8) Petar Teodorovic (SRB) 2-6 7-5 6-1
(5) Jack Pinnington Jones d. Orel Kimhi (ISR) 6-3 6-0

R3

Danilo Raicevic (MNE) v Lui Maxted
(5) Jack Pinnington Jones v Luka Mikrut (CRO)

Girls R2

(1) Polina Kudermetova (RUS) d. Amelia Bissett 6-0 6-2

R3

(14) Julia Middendorf (GER) v Kylie Bilchev

Jack is the only Brit left in singles across the age groups, but both doubles pairs are still involved here (Millie/Kylie having put out the second seeds)

R3

Danilo Raicevic (MNE) d. Lui Maxted 6-3 6-3
(5) Jack Pinnington Jones d. Luka Mikrut (CRO) 6-4 6-3

R4

(5) Jack Pinnington Jones v Maks Kasnikowski (POL)

Girls R3

(14) Julia Middendorf (GER) d. Kylie Bilchev 7-5 7-6(5)

A great event for Jack, squeaking through after two tiebreaks, plus making the doubles semis. His semifinal opponent went one better, edging through in 3 tiebreaks

QF

(5) Jack Pinnington Jones d. (2) Stefan Popovic (SRB) 6-3 6-7(4) 7-6(5)

SF

Max Westphal (FRA) v (5) Jack Pinnington Jones

Doubles SF

(1) Popovic/Teodorovic (SRB) v (7) Maxted/Pinnington Jones

No joy in singles for Jack so the wait for our first ever singles finalist in the under 16s goes on

SF

Max Westphal (FRA) d. (5) Jack Pinnington Jones 6-2 6-3

Better luck in the doubles, where we have a much healthier record. In the last decade Oli Golding/George Morgan + Jake Hersey/Aidan McHugh have come away with the trophy, while Luke Bambridge/Kyle Edmund were runners-up

Doubles SF

(7) Maxted/Pinnington Jones d. (1) Popovic/Teodorovic (SRB) 7-5 6-2

F

(7) Maxted/Pinnington Jones v (2) Jurajda/Siniakov (CZE)

Those would be runners-up trophies - very nearly winning though. The aforementioned Polina Kudermetova did the double in the girls event

F

(2) Jurajda/Siniakov (CZE) d. (7) Maxted/Pinnington Jones 1-6 7-6(4) [11-9]
