Time to start guessing the Chiswick list !

I've actually just seen that there have been 4 MD withdrawals from Chiswick today (or yesterday as it is now), 2 from the main list (including Kawa who had that dream WTA run) and 2 IRs - Sam and Gabi have moved into the main draw as a result, which is good, but our other players are far too far down the IR list to take advantage of that.

Alicia will be first alt if there are no SEs, and about 90% of the current qualifying list are playing Woking this week, so we'll have a good idea how that is going as the week progresses.

A few more withdrawals, including top seed Smitkova, so Alicia moves into the main draw directly, meaning there will be 6 GB players in the draw, in addition to the 4 MWDCs. SBG will be 4th alt, or 2nd if there are no SEs. The list is very similar to Woking, but Grammatikapolou (withdrew late from Woking), Bolkvadze and Kostic are here which pushes Gabi and Sam out of the seeding positions. 10 of the other 13 DAs are the same

Looks like the QWC's are going to be harder to guess this week. Angelica will probably get one (possibly even a MDWC), but no-one else really stands out for me at the moment. If Beth and Freya do get into the main draw I may go just on Tuesday and skip Monday if the schedule looks OK.

I'd say Angelica should really be given a MDWC looking at the alternatives. Freya should get one if she wants one, but if she only has one left then she may want to save it for Roehampton later in the year. Assuming she doesn't sneak in directly, she'll be a high Q seed (certainly top 8), which probably wouldn't happen in Roey, and although her path may be tougher this time - could potentially face the likes of Garland in FQR rather than 2 pretty easy ties like in Woking, she'll probably still fancy her chances of qualifying.

Beth should be in a similar position, if she wants one, and assuming she has plenty available after being the last one standing this week, but she may get in directly yet either via withdrawals, or fingers crossed, an SE

Nobody really stands out after that for MDWCs. Ali possibly deserves another chance after pushing Georges to a TB and the LTA do seem to like her, but it's low bar, slim pickings stuff. They may give Sasha a run out after not featuring at Woking, maybe try Armani, or perhaps even reward Grace P for winning a Q1 match as an unseeded player and pushing the Aussie a bit more than Emily App.

A quick count up on the latest acceptance list shows it unchanged from Ace's notes, i.e. 6GB + 4WC in the main draw, and 12GB + 5WC in qualifying. So 27 out of 56 in total, assuming the WC's go to Brits.

Think I counted 9 in the current Q list TA, plus of course the 2 which automatically get boosted due to the SE situation, so Kimberly and Ellie T in this case, to make 11 - unless I've missed one somewhere?

I thought there might have been a withdrawal of two (even though 80+% of the field are already in southern England), but that looks unlikely now, so SBG will likely need a MDWC, unless they think between them that qualifying would be better, same would apply to Freya. If Angelica and one of Holly H, Grace or even Armani were boosted from alt to MDWC and Freya and Beth were kept in the Qs, as high seeds, then it would allow more opportunity to get one or two extra in the main draw. I can see Freya staying in quals if she's only got one WC left - she'll be a top 8 seed, which she probably wouldn't be in Roehampton, and she obviously came through last week with flying colours - a risk, but one worth taking IMO.

Chiswick Q draw is out on the ITF site. Not looked at it yet, but will see if I can detect anything from it.

Well the order of play is out anyway.

Yes, draw is out. I haven't studied it yet, but the top few Q seeds are non-Brits

Quite hard to tell from the limited info available, but with Noel in the Q list as top seed, it looks like Beth and Freya have MDWCs, or they are not playing. I can't see Angelica, Emily Arb, Sasha, Armani and Grace in the Q draw, so I'd imagine the 4 MDWCs will be from those 7, with the first 4 listed probably being most likely. Ali and Holly are in Qs this time after getting MDWCs last week.

Looks like there has been one withdrawal from the accepted list because Alice Robbe should have an SE for reaching the Irish W15 final, and both Cascino and Lily are not in quals, so one of those 3, or one of those already accepted will have withdrawn - let's hope it's not a Brit.

No guarantee qualifiers this week, but we do have 8) Ola and 12) Tanysha in a section. It's flanked by Larkin and an Aussie I know nothing about, so hopefully 2 Brits will meet in the final there. K Pitak is Q9, but she will potentially play Q1 Brit killer Noel in FQR, and I think Noel may have beaten her at either Bolton or Sunderland a few months ago.

Ali Collins is another seed, but not a top 8 seed, so may face the Q5 Rish1ti in the FQR.

QWC's for Veronika Hughes, Millie Blissett, Nell Miller, Abigail Amos and Suzy Larkin. Main draw WC's appear to be as Ace says.

Sorry Ace, Ola and Tanysha are next to each other in the draw, but in different sections. Ola has Larkin, Cross and Suresh Q14 in her section - I can't see any of the others comong through without something exceptional though.

Ah, can't even read a simple chart, ha. That's possibly worse - hard to gauge this Suresh in relation to Ola, and she seems to have played exclusively on the W15 scene this year, but a potential meeting of GB top seeds would probably have been better than a more unknown quantity. Suresh is coming into this on the back of a 1-6 1-6, but then Ola has also had her share of heavy beatings this season.

If this was last week I might have thought Holly H would have a chance to at least take over the top seeding and see what happens after that, but while it was the eventual runner up and 2nd seed she lost to, last week doesn't exactly inspire you with confidence. Can't see any joy after that either.
