Well, I thought this might be a tough match between two relative equals, but Emilie has breezed through relatively comfortably, so congrats to her. Points are down on before, so think she still only gets 3 WTA points for reaching this far. She's likely to play the top seed, Ekaterina Shalimova, next.
QF: LINDH, Emilie (GBR) [6] UNR/191 beat DRUMMY, Georgia (IRL) [9] UNR/261 Born 2000 (JCH:35 Oct 18) 6-4 6-2
I thought Drummy would win very comfortably considering her junior ranking, coming into this on the back of a W15 title, and being the absolute overwhelming favourite coming into it. Look at those pre-match odds:
Drummy generally 1.05 / 1.06 which is like 1/17. Lindh was as big as 9.70 (some of those may be betting exchanges), but BetFred had her at 7.5, which is 13/2. That's a hell of a win for Emilie.

Shalimova has just come through in two sets against the 5th seed after a second set TB. Shalimova and Emilie are the same age. Will be an interesting match.

Yes, very good serving stats from Emilie, which I've also liked about her game. She seems to have a good playing platform to build on. 66% 1st serves in, 70% won, 53% 2nd serves won. Only 3 DFs (and 3 aces) and just 2/4 BPs lost, against 5/16 BPs won, suggesting she had BP opportunities most receiving games.

Yes, Emilie Lindh is interesting - I don't think anyone on this site has seen her play??? From what I can remember..... Sorry if that's wrong - and please post if you have.
And the only livestreams I know of are on dodgy sites so I won't watch them.
And there's a remarkable lack of info about her - or my googling is letting me down....
I seem to remember she was based in Spain (which would also explain the lack of junior tennis). But might have confused her with another player.....
So I'm not surprised the bookies don't rate her.
But without any actual live 'sightings', it's difficult to have an informed view.
She's certainly posting some consistently decent enough results, and is still a teenager so very young.

Yeah, some fair points there CD, I certainly haven't seen her play and even if you do an 'Emilie Lindh' search in Google images, or add Gallagher, then barely anything comes up. I remember being reasonably encouraged with her results at some point last year, but then she seemed to stall a little bit, not helped by a fair few retirements halting her momentum, and then you'll see her lose to K Pitak or take an occasional heavy beating and then you (me) might question how far she can go, but then as you say, she is still very young.
Drummy does seem highly rated and someone who I thought (still do) would go further of the two. Just looking at some of Drummy's recent results and doing the triangular theory - she beat Maria Fonte 6-2 6-4 en route to that aforementioned W15 title, (Fonte beat Vic Allen 6-4 6-1 two months ago - one of the 'winnable' post Sunderland results I was referring to yesterday), and she beat Malmqvist 6-3 6-0 in the same event (facing no BPs) who is often in the UK, beat Freya and took a set of Jodie at Bolton, and pushed Rodionova 6-4 in the third a few weeks ago, so is no mug, add to that her decent junior pedigree and I thought she'd have too much.
But yes, there is of course less data and visual perception to go off at this lower level, so more chance of odds being too big than at the WTA / high end ITF level, where those kind of odds would generally be considered a massive upset. Still, a very impressive result, and I will likely keep more of an eye on her than a lot of the others currently in the W15 events to see if she can maybe get herself up to where the likes of Eden, Alicia, Freya and co are in a couple of years. Very positive result.
Edit - ah, I missed your google point, but I definitely noticed that too.
Emilie is/ was based in Valencia, as far as I can recall. I've always assumed mixed Spanish/UK parentage, but that's only guessing. She's definitely been more of a product of the Spanish junior system than the UK one, but as you've said CD has a very limited junior record. I'd love to see her play too, but also have not so far, even on livestream, but there's always seemed something about her that i like... I'm not even sure what her height is, but with a more than useful serve my assumption is again a useful height and strength... And that's now far too many assumptions!
As we're on assumptions (), with her two names, I'm assuming there's no Spanish parentage there but that's she was based at a tennis centre in Spain, as so many youngsters are, both British and other.
I used to have access to the Spanish domestic ranking system but I don't think I do now. That's what would be the most interesting to me, short of actually seeing her play.
Emilie seems to have recently started using instagram as Emilie.Lindh.Gallagher but minimal posts so far and info to be gleaned. She has the French/GB/Norway flag on it.

Good sleuthing
The Norway bit makes sense.
I checked the French domestic system and she played one money tournament last year but the draw was very stretched out so she beat one player with a British Tour style ranking, and lost then to Lou Brouleau, who's obviously a very decent player and top 500 WTA. So it's not particularly helpful.

Yes, Lindh is a Scandinavian name. There is a Swedish (male) ice hockey player with the same name (Emilie Lindh). Gallagher is of course Scottish in origin.
