Crikey, that is shocking. Emotions can run extremely high during a match as we all know, but to walk off injured not allowing the opponent the last shot over the net seems a bit beyond extreme! I have always looked for Issacs results as he perceived him as being stuck in the middle of his fathers dispute with LTA, it would be nice to know more of what went on here???
Thanks Coup Droit. I think I'd like to know more about what actually happened before jumping to conclusions. My first thoughts were that Isaac must have had a serious fall or something that stopped him staying on the court for just one final point.
It may beg questions but Goldsmith seems to have been judge and jury.
Yes. My 'begs questions' was deliberately phrased that way.
And Goldsmith certainly seems on a complete bandwagon on this issue, with a lot of vitriol and not much fact.
However, there was no MTO. And the chances of someone having a serious fall on the last point seem very slim.
Then again if a minor fall, slight twist of ankle, might you at 0-5 0-40 in the final set, rather than take a MTO or even any match delay, say with a smile to Jack "I think it's yours, mate", and whether or not protocol might suggest that Isaac should still stand on one leg for the final point I doubt Jack woud be that fussed in a 15K R2 match.
Yes, like anyone just going on the scores I don't know what happened and was really just having a go at Mr Goldsmith, which I feel is compulsory
