Not Brengle, but still a very useful player, and someone Tara has not beaten before...

I think Hayley isn't 18 until November Peter. OER have her down as being 18, but WTA and ITF say 17.

Bookies actually have her as the very slight favourite. Hopefully it's on around 9/10pm tomorrow on a streamed court.

Tara + haven't troubled the second seeds too much in the doubles.

L16:- Sanaz MARAND (USA) / Tara MOORE (GBR) CR498 (271+227) lost to Yu-Chieh HSIEH (TPE) / Xiaodi YOU (CHN) CR301 (165+136) [2] 4-6 1-6

OER has her date of birth as 26-02-2001

She won a W25 recently, but other results are a bit mixed, so I would have thought Katie can beat her

Yeah, not sure why that is, WTA have it as 3rd Nov 2001. Hopefully Katie can get the win. It's on at 6pm UK on a streamed court, so I'll try and catch most of it.

Katie S about to get underway, with commentary. She's actually come in to the 4/5 fave overnight (both odds on), so that would suggest a very close match. I wish her well, big match for potential US Open qualifying.

Remarkably this is level. Baptiste not playing well and Katie had points for a double break, but the American just clung in and broke to 15

4-4*

A few errors here and there, a few good points from her opponent - not much in it apart from the key points

She was hanging on in that game, but eventually broken and now 7 of last 8 games for the opponent. 0-2* second set.

Only 1 break in the second, but looks like it's sloping away.

Lost 5-7 3-6.

I mean it was never going to be easy, and at 17, we don't know what we are looking at with Baptiste and how far she can go, but it pretty sad how much Katie has stalled this past 12-15 months, and the commentator kind of summed it up with his 'solid' enough, but 'utilitarian' and 'basic' description.

She's obviously had her well documented personal issues, so some perspective and slack is required, but she's now 20 places lower ranked than she was in May 2018, despite having had 2 grass periods and at least 9 MDWCs in those 14 months. She was actually higher ranked at the time than the likes of Bolsova and Rybakina who she has met in this period, but those are now in the top 100 (Rybakina is set to make her debut), and Katie just looks so far away from the likes of those and a fair few other 20/21 year old's who have really pushed on.

Very early days but Tara has started well, one DF a game, but winning her service games easily, with some good outright winners, so far......

2-1*

And with a couple more cracking forehands, gets the break.

Add: too good to last.....back on serve....

Tara looks fit. Not sure what kind of hat she's wearing.
