Hontama won easily today, so Tara will probably have to serve better to get past her tomorrow.

FQR: MOORE, Tara (GBR) 465 vs HONTAMA, Mai (JPN) [q5] 351 (CH:336)

Though re Tara's DFs in QR1, 10 in 9 service games plus a MTB is I would imagine around her going rate.

Would love to see how she would be doing if she could 'sort' her serve but it's been wayward for a long time.

Tara under way. And............
Broken in first game, with 3 DF's in 8 points

And.... wins the next 3 games, breaking twice and holding serve with 0 DFs. With Tara you can be guaranteed a roller coaster wink  *3-1

Another two DFs for Tara another break biggrin

And no, I am absolutely not going to keep track game by game, following Tara I suspect can be a very stressful activity...

Second set Tara now leads 2 holds to 1, with the score 4-3*

... And one more non-hold takes her to the brink *5-3

Yes, who expected Tara to hold? The real question is can she break again to win...

One MP, two MPs, three MPs .... and she WINS 6-2 6-4

Two holds proving sufficient in that final set in the end...

5 points to Tara now, and in the MD she'll probably draw Madison Brengle, the top seed... who will ask her coach, what do I expect? And the coach will shrug her/his shoulders and say, 'Anything!'

Great win despite the Double Faults.

Hopefully will give her some confidence.

She has beaten Brengle, in her time, but hope she gets someone else.

Well done Tara, despite the double faults, which are a plague on many of our women.
