Emily was 2nd alt so I thought she would get directly into the MD, but she hasn't. Has to play just one q match, and likely to face Vlada EKSHIBAROVA (ISR) who scraped past Emily Appleton in her last tournament.

Yashina has partnered Freya Christie and Beth Grey in the last year, but can't see her having partnered Emily before within the last 3-4 years at least.

I looked back through Emily's activity, but not Yashina's. I see she has also played against Emily and Beth/Eden as well this year.

Emily was 6-2 2-0* up (but there were plenty of tight games) but she's just been broken to 15 after a MTO. So either she's picked up a problem or her opponent successfully broke the momentum

Em has lost her last 2 service games to 15 goes break point down. But finally lands a first serve and goes on to hold

Having originally thought the MTO was her opponent at a set and a break down, now I'm not sure. Em has landed only a handful of first serves since the break

What a shame. Only 1 first serve in during the MTB. It was looking really good but whatever happened in that medical timeout just turned the match on its head. So instead of 5 points, it's none.

Out 2-6 6-4 10-6



Just hope she's ok for doubles

Oh dear. Those serving stats are revealing aren't they - serve was working well in the first set.

 

Edit:- The doubles is second match this afternoon, with the first NB 2:30 local (5 hours time difference) - so she has at least a couple of hours before playing
