Cori wouldn't have known Jay from Adam. You can't pin it on her......
He said he's known her ''for a number of years'' so I disagree.
His Instagram says :-Remember where you came from and why you started #TeamC1arke
It seems he hasn't adhered to the Teams values.
Doesn't mean she's known him.
And certainly doesn't mean she insisted on playing with him, which is what you insinuated by saying what she wants is what she gets.
[1]Common ,you can do better than that.
[2] She's flavour of the month with many people at the moment and,in Jay's own words, she ''asked him to play mixed doubles with her''. Not insisted if you want to be pedantic. I listen to the tone of her mother and her interviews but insinuate nothing. That is just my opinion, not right nor wrong. It is also my opinion that the way he did this was way out of order and doesn't show him in a very good light at all as the ''role model''he craves to be.
A 15 year-old does not get to choose who she plays with. She might have an input, presumably she does and quite rightly, but I'm guessing - guessing - that her parents and team had a lot to do with it. As they seem to with all her tennis and life decisions (and, again, quite rightly).
So to imply that she's a demanding spoilt brat by always getting what she wants is wrong (unless you know different).
And, yes, we agree that from what we know at the moment, Jay certainly doesn't come out of this in a good light.

Whatever, there was one suitable answer : "I am committed to someone else and it is now too late in the day".
You're 20. This is work. A manager asks you to do something. What do you do? Because I sure as heck probably would've done whatever it is they asked me (work a diff shift or do this piece of work or whatever it is). I doubt Coco or Jay have the sort of "star power" to against their agents/management company.

Kyle and Jay need some PR help.
If that was the case why didn't he say that to Harriet (I'm being made to by my agent/sponsors whatever)? She would have been a lot more understanding. He could have said publicly that his management organised this opportunity for him. But he didn't say either of these things, he said he knew her personally, that he wasn't guaranteed getting a wild card with Harriet (yeah sure, they reached the semis last year, are both British, and Harriet is actually higher ranked in both singles and doubles than Gauff) and that he had a very difficult decision to make but it had happened to him a few times. I think his head was turned by the opportunity of playing with someone who is currently in the headlines.
It's a job - if Ms. Dart "had an agreement" with Mr. Clarke then there is a contract - of which he is now in breach. She could choose to pursue this, but will - in all likelihood - write it off to experience and learn the life lesson regarding trusting folk.
Mr Clarke has made his bed, and will lie in it in future - people will, I assume, be less likely to enter into agreements with him knowing that if a better option comes along he will renege on any such agreement.
Ms Gauff appears to have had only a peripheral part in this: if she was really looking to take Wimbledon by storm surely her management would have aimed for a Murray/ Kyrgios/ Kontinen, not a young Brit outsider who is unlikely to carry her to the title; but it is tempting to blame her because it reduces the blame attributable to our hero. Maybe she just likes the idea of playing with Mr Clarke?
... but when it comes down to it we can't possibly know enough about what goes on behind the scenes to know exactly what happened, so anything we say here is mostly speculation, and it seems silly to base our respect for a young British tennis player on his actions as reported via PratChat or whatever.
People have gone back to and always did support Dan despite everything. It is what it is. Harriet has the last laugh anyway - she made it to R3 before she comes up against a Federer type (don't see her getting passed Ash)
I can't help feeling that Serena is going to pull out. She's been less than great in her two singles matches. Alternatively if she plays into some form she may withdraw later in the tournament to protect her knee. I remember Steffi Graf did that to John McCenroe in 1999. Think they got through to the semis and then she pulled out because she wanted to focus on singles. J-Mc was NOT happy by all accounts. I hope Murray considered this carefully and wasn't just starstruck by Serena, he must understand that there is a high risk of them not playing or pulling out.

Strangely that was the first thing I thought of when they were paired together. I hope that Andy doesn't get Graffed were my precise words. Mac was fuming in the locker room complaining in front of Brad Gilbert and Andre Agassi (oops).
