So just to say, I have realised I have spent WAYYYYY too much time on here in recent weeks/months and to that extent my work has probably suffered and certainly I know I need to pull back. That isnt going to happen over Wimbledon and I plan to keep on my grass court wins lists through to the bitter end but, after Wimbledon, I plan to take a reasonable sized break through the rest of the summer from this Board. I really enjoy reading posters comments and thoughts and regard many (although I have never met them) as folks I can imagine being friends with in real life - buttt! I need to re prioritise for a while.
I will, however, return, no doubt about that - and i will continue to read even if I fall back from posting.
Anyway that is for a few weeks time so let us see Wimbledon through first!

ill be around for the next two weeks and then hibernating through the summer!
I tried the Social Media free Sept last year and vowed not to come here for a month. Trust me, it's not as easy as it sounds LOL. We are all trapped here and can't (and don't want to) escape.
You do what's best for you, but even once you've hit the sabbatical, drop in from time to time.
And so Wimbledon is over, as are my polls and so am I. I reflected on this note and how busy life seems to have become. I spend way too much time on here and I tend to become addictive to these things in an unhealthy way. I thought about taking a break but have decided I will bow out and take my leave , so am going to delete my account. I may still look in but at least I cant post and it will help!
In case anyone wonders or asks , I'm fine, I just need to clear some stuff from the clutter. I have enjoyed this forum immensely and enjoy reading and interacting with a bunch of knowledgeable, passionate and nice folks in what are nice surroundings. I may pop up again in the future with a new profile, you never know - if I do I'll let myself be known! Till then, all the best !

Sad to see you go, Jon. But quite understand your reasons.
I don't have a twitter account (although I follow others online) because I know myself, and I would just waste WAY too much time. Don't have a Daily Mail account either although I am SO tempted to write and point out some home truths to some of the readers who post. But again, I know it would just leech into my time and well-being.
So better not to even have them and have the temptation.
So I wish you well - you've done the right thing - made a choice, for good reasons.
Hope you fill the gap with some very meaningful activities. Enjoyed your posts, polls, opinions. See you soon but in the meantime, enjoy the freedom. Wonder how often you'll pop in anonymously for a quick peek
I've only just read this, and always enjoyed your posts and the interaction too Jon. Yes, managing time on here can be an issue certainly, I travel for work at times and then just drop off for a while and find that helps. So on the off chance you do peek in, good luck with your present and coming endeavours, and hope like the others that we may see you back one day if you feel able to manage this with the rest of your life. All the best.
