British wins across all 5 disciplines ie mens/womens singles and doubles and mixed!!! yay I hear you say!
However, British wins count as 1 in doubles where it is a pair or 1 if it is a single player of a pair. ie Jamie and Neal winning equals 1 ; Andy and Herbert winning equals 1.
Average over 5 years 33.25. (MS 6.75, WD 3.5, MD 9.5 , WD 3.5 , 10 XD)
Range - (MS 2-9; WS 2-7; MD 7-14, WD 2-4; XD 2-17). thus if we peaked in each event we might get as high as 51 wins; if we dipped low we might get 15 wins.
So where does your vote go? Vote closes on Sunday evening around midnight!
PS if we take out mixed we are remarkably consistent across the 4 other disciplines at 24, 23, 23, 23 wins each year. So mixed may be the thing that makes a difference!!

What amazed me is how consistent we have been in the 4 main disciplines over the period. Even though it differs in each individual discipline year on year, overall we seem to be the same. I am not sure this year feels particularly good or bad relatively?
Hmmm your poll construction Jon... leaves something to be desired this time! Can you modify it?
Your average for the last five years is 33.25. Yet you have 16 poll choices before you get to 32-33 and only 3 after? And even the 2017 number of 40 wins, only falls into your last poll option of 38+. We may all not be so positive this year, but that is a skewed selection of choices. I would have thought all the options below 10 could have been grouped into one, and you could have at least added another 2-3 at the end.

Hi Michael- it's fair comment and I would. How would I change it though and cater for the few that have voted already? I could scrap it and start again? Not sure it's possible for folks to change their existing vote and I can only change the line descriptions rather than move things around...
There are only a handful of votes so far - and they appear to be from regular posters. I'm sure you could scrap it and start again if you want to - and the mods could tidy it up.
I'm happy if a mod wants to open up a new poll with a rejigged voting system and maybe keep the first post info here, for guidance, as I wont get to it most likely until the weekend , thanks
Hi All and Michael D in particular - I dont seem to be able to to delete the poll and I dont think it is fair to change the "lines" of the poll after 8 folks have voted. So, I agree it is a skewed poll but guess we continue with it and see where it gets to. With only 8 voters, it doesnt seem like many are very enthusiastic about it, but heh lets see!
For what it is worth 1 person of the 8 has gone over 38 wins and being positive so I guess the parameters arent causing too many issues

Wimbledon hasn't started yet, so the votes will come in over the weekend, I'm sure.

Yes ok, thanks Jon for looking at it. I'm one of those that will vote over the weekend as I was waiting to see if you could change it.
