Didn't realise that. Too much going on.  Dig in Jay.  The next 20 mins is crucial.

Men's tennis is steadily getting into more and more of a state with the lack of big time challenges to an ageing and generally not as good as was top 3. We have come to accept Crap Generation but Next Generation is in danger of getting a new moniker.

Felix A-A and the Russians, please step up. Well, you can too of course, Brits, even if that needs big step ups.

Yes, I agree. It's not really fair to slag off Next Gen. We know that prime time is after 25 and, even though the big stars will definitely come through earlier, the 20-21 year-olds are not going to be doing it consistently. Even the really talented ones.

The focus is only on Next Gen because, as you say, Crap Gen is so consistently crap. Maybe someone in that lot will actually manage to cause some waves.....

Like I thought at Surbiton, Jay is playing too passively. He's letting Rubin control the rallies and hoping Rubin will make mistakes. Wish he'd take charge a bit more. He's backing off and allowing Rubin to move forward and attack the net.

Completely agree, Nix. And agree he has a tendency to do so, too.

Hopefully finally getting that set will help

Actually, Noah is absolutely tiny. About 5 ft 6?

But Jay's a decentish height - must be close to 6 foot.

I think his interview was telling. He said he spent all his childhood playing his brother and sister. The only way for little kids to beat older, bigger, 'better' kids is to outrun them, outfox them. They can't really outpower them. So you develop that style of play.

According to the ATP, Rubin is 5'9" (the same height as Dan) & Jay 6'2".

I feel like theyve both added some inches here. But yes, come on Mr Clarke!
