Interesting stat (courtesy of the BBC website) from the Kyrgios match.

Nick Kyrgios won the third-set tie-break in 19 minutes, then lost the fourth set in 18 minutes.

Kyrgios wins the final set 6-1.

At least if there is some vague purpose, especially if you ultimately win, I can accept tanking ( which I assume he did ) in a set. Much more of an issue when he throws the whole match away in front of paying spectators

Men's tennis is steadily getting into more and more of a state with the lack of big time challenges to an ageing and generally not as good as was top 3. We have come to accept Crap Generation but Next Generation is in danger of getting a new moniker.

Felix A-A and the Russians, please step up. Well, you can too of course, Brits, even if that needs big step ups.

That would open up the draw a little for Mr Clarke.

-- but I fear that Mr Federer has found his bat.
