Ddd maybe I was a bit OTT with my criticism of Inverdale. Kyle looks like this match is in his hands to me
Inverdale's an idiot but I don't dislike him. He did a brilliant interview with Christine Janes at RG. The person I can't stand in the commentary box is Boris Becker. A brilliant player but as a supposed pundit he doesn't to offer anything.
Just before I had to sneak out for a bit, Kyle was serving at *3-1 in the 3rd.
Becker: Three service games to go.
Inverdale: Is that the way you are thinking?
Becker: Yes. Just count them down. Even count the points. That's one.
Inverdale: I though you were just supposed to focus on the point in hand.
Becker: Anyone who says that has never played professional tennis. That's two.
Then Kyle was broken from 40-0 up.
Becker: Kyle lost focus. He was thinking about the finish line. You have to stay in the moment.
Having just got back, I haven't seen the goings on with Kyle's knee. But there were moments even in the early sets where for me, his movement wasn't good.
I know I am supposed to be Mr Positive, but this has an air of inevitability about it. It's not looking good.
It looks like Kyle will need an operation... He is not 'managing' his knee successfully that's becoming obvious. Wondering if he will even finish this match.

He needs it get it sorted and if that means time out of the game, so be it. He clearly hasn't been right all season. I am sure he has good people around him so hopefully he is getting the right advice.
If Kyle loses this match then he should look back to 5 unforced errors to hand the break back at 40 luv in the third set.
Verdasco was gone at 4 games to 1. You simply cant afford these types of lapses and this seems all too regular in his game .
That was a shocker of a few points, I agree. But the bigger picture for me is his fitness. He has been playing with injury all year and that has to have a mental effect on a player as well as a physical one.
+1 to the HEAVY dislike of Becker as a commentator he really is dreadful and after all this years they could have found someone better. He's truly clueless I was always surprised that his relationship with Djokovic worked out so well.
I agree with whoever said Castle was terrible as well.
A random one to throw out there is Mark Petchey. I generally think he's ok except when he's commentating on Federer. He goes out of his way to describe his game as godly and perfect, he used celestial the other at some point during RG, it's just unrelenting praise and very over top. I really can't stand it and I like Federer. #Rant Over
Anyway, hope Kyle can dig deep in the 5th!

This is painful to watch, reminds me of Andy when he struggled through. Tennis can be cruel. He should really retire here. Even if he does this now somehow he will have hurt his body more than is worth it. Operation and time out needed otherwise he could damage his career here long term.
