Ddd maybe I was a bit OTT with my criticism of Inverdale. Kyle looks like this match is in his hands to me

Inverdale's an idiot but I don't dislike him.  He did a brilliant interview with Christine Janes at RG.  The person I can't stand in the commentary box is Boris Becker.  A brilliant player but as a supposed pundit he doesn't offer anything.

To prove my point he just told us that Verdasco served through the T!!  Talk about stating the b***ding obvious!

What a strange SP that was - but I will take it and I'm sure Kyle will too.

6-4 6-4

Hilarious

And, yes, there is nothing to like, in my view, about Boris Becker as a person. And I wish they could find someone else to commentate.

Thanks CD.  I'm glad it's not just me.

John Lloyd I also cant stand. Another public school boy aloof clown who as Coup Droit says offers nothing.

Anyway looks like Kyle will stop the British losing streak of 5 in a row today. He has again been lucky in his side of the draw. Could potentially make the quarters here maybe semi. Kyle does seem to have Federeresque luck of the draw. When you look at Dans draw he has a rotten run all top class players in his way to the same place.

Kyle has a lucky draw - yawn yawn! Verdasco has been in excellent form of late and this was potentially a very difficult match. Despite the slight hiccup at 3-0 in the 3rd, Kyle has played really well to neutralise the threat.

 Verdasco excellent form?

1st round losses at Queens and Hertogenbosch. Lost to Querrey at Eastbourne. Not made it past a QF this year.

Yep excellent form that.

I can't say as I like the man myself, but check your facts before you make sweeping statements like that:  I think you'll find find that he attended Southend High School for Boys, a state grammar school...

My apologies.

Very important TB I feel. I'm far from sure that Kyke is winning this if he loses the TB.

Think that slip has really shaken Kyle. He was moving so well before but now seems so gingerly

The 40 luv game Kyle threw away could well cost him this match . He should have been winning this in 3 sets , now with his dodgy knee and Verdascos confidence up Id put the Spaniard as the favourite .

6-4 6-4 6-7(3) ...

And bet365 win odds quite tight now. Edmund 4/6, Verdasco 6/5. And yes some might think that that's still a decent price for Verdasco.

C'mon Kyle !

According to a tweet from Stu Fraser quoted by the Beeb, Kyle has one just one tie-break of the seven he's played so far this year!  cry
