Week 26 - ATP 250 - Nature Valley International - Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, Great Britain

L16:  (WC) Daniel Evans WR 63 (CH = 41 in March 2107) defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert (FRA) WR 43 (CH = 36 in Feb) 6-3 7-5 I believe PHH was up a break at least twice in that second set (couldn't watch)

you would be correct flamingo - PHH served for it ( and had a set point) at 5-4 then evo broke back held and broke again

Why is there a stoppage in the Edmund/Norrie match?

And Dan is up to LR 60 now... Moreover if Dan was to win his QF match as well, and Cam was to lose today to Kyle, then Dan would be just 10 pts behind Cam in the rankings. He's closing up...

A 45 minute delay later, back on court. Seeing on Twitter that it was hard to get to the poor spectator. I hope they are ok.

First set to Kyle. No offence to Cam but Kyle really needs to start getting some wins so I'm rooting for him today

Maybe it was the break in the match, maybe it's the scoreline and dominance of Kyle but the atmosphere is quite flat.

Well done Kyle for winning the battle of the 2019 and grass-court bunnies

Dan to win that one. Dan will be GB no.1 soon, Kyle has a few rounds at W to defend and later on his title. Dan doesn't have so much. Think Cam will remain no.2

Looking at it 2 ways:

Kyle - excellent, beat world 59 and with ease, 2 and 2. Dealt well with delay and a good win to boost his confidence.

Cam - poor, lost to an out of form player on a surface they dislike, and emphatically. Will be a big blow to is confidence and not good going into Wimbledon.

And the third way:

Dan - bring it on!

Maybe it's me but I always think eastbourne is flat. Long way from stands to courtside, quite open, if windy the atmosphere blows away. My least favourite venue in the grass season
