Sometimes you can want to win too much.

The alt Hibi recovered from *0-3 against the seeded Davis to take the first set. Not too clued up with the set up at Birmingham, but as it's early days in the second set, I can't see Davis winning that tonight. Winner plays Naiktha, so it'll likely either be the lower ranked Hibi or they'll finish tomorrow.

On grass, I think Tara has a chance of an upset...I'd be very surprised if any of the others made it through.

Colour me very surprised!

Impressive fight from Naiktha.

Naiktha's 13 points ( net 8 ) so far added for 24/06 will recover the 12 points ( net 7 ) due off this coming Monday from last year's Nottingham qualifying.

So that should already maintain her around her current ranking and CH 226.

3 rounds of qualifying here with points 13/18/25.

Harriet and Venus have been given a doubles WC. No doubles fan, but that's pretty cool for Harriet and I might even keep half an eye on it.

Does anyone know which half of the draw will start tomorrow? Is Jo likely to play is really my question.

Becomes just the 4th women to team up with her. LTA said 3rd, but a few have said she has teamed up with Serena (obviously), Wozniacki and Keys. Could be a pub question is the US in the coming years.

'7 time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams has teamed up to play doubles with 4 players - 23 times slam winner Serena Williams, Australian Open champion and former world #1 Caroline Wozniacki, and former US Open finalist (plus any future bigger achievements) Madison Keys, but who else?'
