5-3 *30-30, either MP next or a chance to get it back on serve.

Fran failed to serve it out at *5-1 but has done so at the second time of asking. Congrats to her and good luck for her second final in a row in Minsk. She'll be developing a taste for that Arctic port city

SF: JONES, Francesca (GBR) [SE] 455 beat SHYMANOVICH, Iryna (BLR) [Q] 526 (CH=367 2014) 7-5 5-7 6-3

F: JONES, Francesca (GBR) [SE] 455 vs CRISTIAN, Jaqueline Adina (ROU) [2] 230 (CH:201 March 18)

Edit: Ha, my geography some way off there.... Belarus is landlocked and Minsk some distance from the Baltic, not Arctic. Suspect I was thinking of Murmansk, which would indeed be a bleak prospect wink

Will that mean a SE for next week, assuming she still wants to play?

Yes. She also had a SE this week, but next week she's currently 2nd in the q list in Sweden, so I agree the question is whether she still wants to travel and play there after two finals in a row.

She is entered for the W25 at Ystad in Sweden (outdoor clay) next week. Currently showing on the acceptance list as Q2, so no problem about getting in either way.

Edit - beaten to it by 30 seconds !

9 match winning streak, is that the longest at W25+ level since Gabi in Australia in the first quarter of last year? Harriet also had 2 excellent successive W25 events last year, but that was before Gabi.

I was gonna say...

Having been to Minsk a couple of times, I hope Fran has a love of Soviet-era architecture (which I do...)

Edit: Well done Fran!

Interesting at the moment that Fran will rise 91 places next week at the moment to LR 366. However, she will remain at GB #13 because Sam has gained 56 pts so far this week against Fran's 50 pts for her win last week, so Sam rises even more - 107 places so far, and thus goes just past Fran into GB #12. Naomi of course rises too this week, staying just above Sam and Fran.

The week after however, when Fran's 30 pts so far here this week go on, she has the potential however to displace Gabi has GB #10, depending on what Gabi, Sam and Naomi all do next week.

LR Week 17/6 24/6

Gabi 339 Fran 315
Naomi 350 . Gabi 338
Sam 359 Naomi 350
Fran 366 Sam 360
