This makes me very happy. Mahut winning at his favourite tournament.

Came close to d. Murray/Skupski also.

Good to see Tsitsipas win today and reach last 8. Still going to stick by him and say he will come good at W!

Only as long as he doesn't meet FAA - needs someone else to take Felix out for him. That's 5 times they have met I think and Stef has only managed to take 1 set off him!

Edit: it's actually 6 times they have met.

gotta keep the faith! FAA and Berrettini seem to be guys to keep an eye on the grass.

BTW Simon just beat Mahut, 3 hour 20 mins!

No offence to Felix, but Feliciano Lopez has totally ruined him there.

Interesting, the urban dictionary provides a definition with a strongly sexual connotation... Comes from the lyrics of a Norah Jones song smile

Am none the wiser!  Why, oh why, do people on here assume that, because they use certain terminology with which they are familiar, everybody else is as well & understands what the bloody hell they are talking about, especially if they are derived from obscure Americanisms?!!!  I don't want to have to go rooting about on Google to make sense of throwaway remarks!  furious

Because language isn't a dead thing but a living breathing beast that is constantly changing and adapting. I did a uni module on language a few years ago and it was really fascinating (going off topic rather here) but are you aware that words such as butter, street, kitchen were borrowed from Latin and brought over by the Anglo-Saxons? Place names such as those with -Chester date from around 450. Latin influenced Celtic words that ended up in place names that have original in "church" or "school". Pretty sure -ham (as in Birmingham is from something as well)

The internet -i.e. how we are communicating with its international reach - is changing how we speak, learn, write etc. Personally I abhor stuff like hw r u 2day? Rather than how are you today? But hey, it happens (thankfully none of my friends are like this) I watch different tv, listen to different music, watch more.tennis because of the internet.

I am sure you could pick up the gist of what was meant either by the score or by the context if you wanted to but I am afraid that it's unrealistic of you to expect people to use standard English all the time or to word or format things they way you seem to want them. Everyone is different! The players we support are different -we wouldn't want Andy to become someone else would we? Let's just embrace the differences. If it really annoys you that much, just sigh/roll your eyes and move on. You don't have to reply to the post  necessarily.

Edit - also it would be really difficult to un-americanise words. Pretty impossible really.

FWIW (for what it's worth) I am familiar with the term Jeff Stelling used.

Lopez has a 4-0 record over simon on grass alone, all in straight sets I think.
