Emilie wins too, but in a very close match, 6-1 5-7 6-3.
Emilie won the last three games to win. But in a match of multiple break points, Emilie saved 12/17 BPs against her, and won 8/12 for her, and that was the difference in the match, her better performance on those crucial points.
What was not said earlier about Katya Townsend is that she's still a junior (Born 2000) with a JCH:143 and trains at the IMG Academy, so she clearly has more about her than her ranking exists. She's also at college at Texas A&M.
Emilie's next opponent doesn't have a ranking either, but is currently a senior at Vanderbilt college. She took out today for the loss of only 1 game, the South African Derckson, who beat Nell Miller easily in qualifying.
I'm not sure what happened to Emilie's doubles, but it seems to have been given as a walkover. Kuczer, singles 4th seed, lost in a three setter, and Emilie won in a three setter, so it would seem one of them couldn't make the doubles. Emilie also retired in a singles match last week (after injury problems earlier this year), so hope she is ok. Has singles QF later today, as does Tanysha.

They probably were always out of their depth here, I didn't see the pre match odds or know anything about their opponents, but TD is 0-6 *0-5 and EL is 1-6 *2-5.
Not much joy. Lindh 1-6 2-6, Tanysha 0-6 0-6, both finished within about a minute of each other.

Yes, just for context Contreras is on the just announced NCAA All-American list. She's at Vanderbilt as I mentioned above. So no shame in Emilie's loss, although she did have 3 BPs to go 2-0 up at the start!
Both Emilie and Tanysha will have singles rankings in August. Along with the Pitak sisters, Tiffany W, Anna P, Alice G and Ali C.
With the upcoming change I wouldn't be surprised if a few others throw their hats in the 15k ring.
Yes, now I can get onto OER, I see this is now Tanysha's 4th counter, but the first time to reach a QF in a W15 event. Hard to tell though with these screwed up ITF rankings, whether today's result features as a CB for her.
OER only really works for currently WTA ranked players - Tanysha's best singles result was probably in R32 v Tamara MALESEVIC ITF 172 in R32 in Cairo. Can't tell exactly because they only give current ITF rankings. Hope it helps
