The Q2 seed is only a player with an ITF ranking of about 1400 - it's hardly anything to be scared of !

Emilie and Daria Kuczer (POL), who lost the doubles final last week, are up to the heady heights of being top seeds this week. They play their first match tomorrow.

Rather encouragingly, Miss Dissanayake has just taken the first set from the top seed 6-4 1-0*

Wow, and even more encouragingly, she's taken the second set too to win 6-4 6-3

Tanysha is beginning to show some real development during this run of hers in Cancun, and I believe should have done enough now to gain a WTA ranking in August... once OER comes back online for me to check.

Both Emilie and Tanysha will have singles rankings in August. Along with the Pitak sisters, Tiffany W, Anna P, Alice G and Ali C. biggrin

With the upcoming change I wouldn't be surprised if a few others throw their hats in the 15k ring.

Yes, now I can get onto OER, I see this is now Tanysha's 4th counter, but the first time to reach a QF in a W15 event. Hard to tell though with these screwed up ITF rankings, whether today's result features as a CB for her.
