Week 23 - Challenger (€137,560+H) - Surbiton Trophy, Surbiton, Surrey, Great Britain (grass)

A tournament on the green stuff in this country is such a welcome event that I felt I had to mark it early!  biggrin  The wild cards have already been flagged on the thread about next week's entry lists (Jan Choinski, Liam Broady, Lloyd Glasspool, Evan Hoyt [ ] & Paul Jubb [ ]) in the relevant forum, but Dan Evans is in the main draw by right & will be seeded (full list here), while Ryan Peniston & Brydan Klein have qWCs.  Dino & Jay Clarke are also part of the British contingent in the main draw.

There's a brief word about Paul & a nice photo on this page.

Strange that Mirza Basic, the last direct entry, who was born in Sarajevo (BIH), is shown as representing Cyprus!

Thanks SC. Re qualifying , is this a 4 player qualifying field, I hate those to be honest, but heh. Is there a link to the qualifying draw field?

Jason Jung has withdrawn by the way, suspect some more will follow. Andrew Harris takes his place

I see Evan Hoyt has given a walkover at the British Tour event today - hope that he's fit for Surbiton.

A few more withdrawals on list above, Macdonald is highest ranked, also hoang.

Not that I've been able to find, I'm afraid.

On the entry list that I posted in the second post, basic is still down as Bosnian,  as he is on ATP page, so maybe an error by LTA,  confusing him with m.baghdatis?

I wouldn't be at all surprised, especially after seeing that Baggy has withdrawn.   I don't think their people are among the sharpest knives in the drawer!  wink

Might be a tactical walk over rather than injury.

I am gutted that I will miss Surbiton this year. Really enjoyed it last year, it's peanuts to enter after work, to enjoy some good tennis and get so close up to the players.

Pretty sure it is Monday. Would have been great if it was tomorrow though.
