 But just look at how many of the last 16 are either playing for Eastern European countries( i.e. ex Communist) or are of Eastern European origin.(Jo is in that category) In the top half of the draw only Madison Keys and Ashleigh Barty aren't. In the bottom half only Sloane Stephens and Garbine Muguruza aren't. What have they got that we haven't got or the likes of France and Germany for that matter ?

 Eastern Europe isn't one country but many so not entirely sure a comparison can be made. 

*Technically Muguruza is also S.American; she just plays for Spain.

 I also vaguely remember him as a player - at least the win over Ivanisevic. He is 57 according to his Wiki page  which acknowledges his Cheshire roots

But remember it isn't a break until you hold your own serve which Jo  sadly does not. 4-4.
