Tough match still, chardy is doing well this season

Is that said tongue in cheek?

He got to the third round in Madrid but has been having a nightmare of a year otherwise:

Lyon R1; Rome R2; Madrid R3; Estoril R2; Monte Carlo R1; Houston R1; Miami R3; Indian Wells R1; Phoenix R1; Marseille R1; Rotterdam R1....

He's barely won a singles match (has been doing well in doubles)

My gut said three losses when I saw the draw.

But I'm going for Kyle to win (Chardy to lose, that is), Cam to lose (I know Nick has just said he loathes clay and can't wait to leave France but I reckon that's double bluff), and as for Dan.....well..... the brain says Verdasco but the heart says Dan, so let's go for Dan.

I think Kyle has a good chance if he plays well. Doesn't Chardy favour grass?

Cam to beat Nick, he hates the clay although he might show up to play in the first round.

Evo has the toughest draw against an in-form Verdasco but not impossible.

I'll go 2 out of 3, maybe too optimistic....

Yes, Chardy hates clay. (And yes Nick does too, which - as you say - is great for our guys - he was pretty rude about Paris yesterday but that's no real surprise or even indicator.....).

So, like you, I'm 2 out of 3. But a different two....

Brave calls both, lovely if you were both right wink

I'll be happy if anyone gets through this set of matches all against top 40 players though...

Shame Nick wasn't a seed this year as that would have opened it right up (not sure which seed he'll likely to face in R2, should they both advance). I guess, Kyrgios retiring after 2 games or something from Cam's POV would have been better (not morally, or from the fans perspective), but that should generally be more favourable than playing someone higher ranked who can be brilliant on his day.

Didn't like his draw, it's reported, and decided he'd had enough of Paris

So it's a LL for Cam......

Benchetrit has had two 3 setters to get through qualies. Last year he had a WC and took a set off Monfils. He is a 1998 born player.

He might hate clay but he isn't bad on it. Has won a singles title on it, and some doubles titles and has reached the 4th Rd at RG twice.
