Heading to Town v Gillingham today. 6 matches left, 5 points behind play off places; my son reckons Town are out of it. And he may be right, but Gillingham are in the final play off spot and we have a game in hand; win today and its 2 points behind with a game in hand and if other results go our way (we are 13th) Id say we are back in the thick of it. Lose and we are out for sure, draw and Id say the same.
Same for QPR: two great wins against relegation competitors, Birmingham and Swansea City. Followed by a rather limp loss at home to another relegation competitor, Sheffield Wednesday. We're still in trouble but have a crucial match against Plymouth Argyle (yet another relegation rival) on Tuesday.
I'm dissapointed, JonH. We did you a favour by winning at Crawley but you failed to return it by only drawing with Sutton.
I know, what a disappointment! If wed held on wed have been 1 point off play offs, instead we are 3 points off now with just 2 games left. Still a chance, I guess, and there are 6 teams in with a shout of that last play off but we are the team in 12th and probably have the most outside chance of those 6.

disappointing day for sure.
bet365 are offering 100/1 against Harrogate making the play-offs. But hey still > 0 with just 2 matches left.
Certainly looks like you will need to win these last 2 games and then just hope for a series of other results that let you sneak in ahead of Creepy Crawley et al.
On the other hand I see that TA's Colchester won again ( vs Grimsby ) and are 4 points clear of Sutton with Forest Green gone. So looking good for them escaping.
Though I see that it's Sutton vs Crawley on Saturday. They can't both lose!

I know, I thought Crawley were going to lose and Walsall might just draw last night at around mid way through, but it didnt quite work out that way!
Points are:
7. Crawley 66
8. Walsall 65
9. Donny Rovers 64 (3 games left)
10. Gillingham 63
11. Wimbledon 62
12. Gate 62
13. Bradford 60 (3 games left)
Still quite tight, Donny and Bradford both have 3 games to play, the rest just 2. Nothing other than 2 wins for Harrogate, home to MK Dons and away to Salford is going to be enough with our poor goal difference; and it still then needs Crawley and the rest to largely mess up.
I think we are done for - but nonetheless, to still be in the running until the last 2 games of the season is quite a thing for 'gate and we have also beaten our record points finish in EFL2 (best to date was 57 in 20/21) and got our highest position ever (best was 17th in 20/21), so it can be said to have been a successful league season overall.
With the third smallest budget in the division, it isnt bad really. The club lost £2m or so last season, however, in financials just released. I think a lot of that was ground improvements, so capital spend, so hopefully we arent in danger of breaching FFP regulations
