Week 21 - Challenger ($54,160+H) - Volvo Open - Jerusalem, Israel (hard)

L48:  (WC) Sergey Fomin (UZB) WR 581 (CH = 576 in January) vs Brydan Klein WR 362 (CH = 169 in September 2015)

The Uzbek will probably fancy his chances...

Brydan will be happy to back on hard courts and, given rankings, both actual and CH, Brydan wins hand down.

But Fomin is still a junior. Ranked JWR 36 (ex 23). Always unpredictable.

But still going for Brydan.

Brydan won the first set very easily, 6-1

But there's just been a MTO in the second set which, I'm not sure, but it looked like it was for Brydan.

And he's certainly walking rather gingerly, as though he had a back problem (although still managing to serve not too badly)

And also getting well worked up about people behind him, making noise, etc. etc.

L48:  Brydan Klein WR 361 defeated (WC) Sergey Fomin (UZB) WR 628 by 6-1 7-6(3)  smile

*****

L32:  Brydan Klein WR 361 vs (9) Filip Peliwo (CAN) WR 302 (CH = 161 last May)

Brydan won the second set too, in a TB

Although he was rather playing off one leg for most of that second set, really didn't look comfortable.

But he won, which is the main thing.

Hope he holds up for the next ......

Sadly, he couldn't:

L32:  (9) Filip Peliwo (CAN) WR 302 defeated Brydan Klein WR 361 by 4-3 retired  cry

Yes, I saw he was 3-0 up, and then next time I looked it was 3-4 and he'd stopped.

He really didn't look good in the previous match, it's no surprise, but a shame, his injury has been dragging on....
