Freya has made it, if unconvincingly again. Some very long games - the match took 2hrs 41 mins for two 'short' sets. She won 6/16 BPs - so her opponent saved 10! - and she saved 8/11 of those she faced. A good junior up next who beat the q15 seed easily. Freya may need to serve a bit better tomorrow to come through.

FQR: Freya CHRISTIE (GBR) [q4] 545 vs Dayeon BACK (KOR) UNR/819 Born 2002 (JCH:130 March 19)

In the doubles, Lissey and Freya are 3rd seeds, play a Korean pair first up.
Maia is playing with Berfu Cengiz (TUR) against Hanna Chang (USA) and Emily Fanning (NZL), who put out Freya and Lissey quite easily last week.

Lissey had some good draws lately. Allowing her to just keep nudging up

Poor performance from Freya unfortunately but I suspected the result following her struggle yesterday. Maia wins comfortably

FQR: Freya CHRISTIE (GBR) [q4] 545 lost to Dayeon BACK (KOR) UNR/819 Born 2002 (JCH:130 March 19) 5-7 2-6

R32: Maia LUMSDEN (GBR) [4] 322 beat Se-Hyun KIM (KOR) [WC] UNR/560 (CH:1010 June 18) 6-2 6-2

Yes, as you say, Michael, not too much of a surprise, given how painfully dragged out the win was yesterday.

Another 'disappointing' result.....

Lissey and Freya lost their doubles too, in a MTB, to round off a miserable day for Freya

Poor Freya, it's just not happening, and obviously hasn't for quite some time. She'll no doubt be overtaken by a fair few in the general grass WC pecking order as well.

Lissey doing an Emily App at the moment. Led 5-3 and 6-5 but got broken twice and lost the first set TB 6-7(5)
