Week 20 - ITF (W25) Obidos, Portugal Carpet

Man, I did exactly the same, but think it was 5-2 when I saw. I saw it go from 0-1 to 5-2 and was hoping this would have been the win confirmation bump.

On court probably at least an hour longer than needed but after s brutal 3hr 11min match she gets it. Most impressive performance (for me) for some time. Well bloody done!

Doubles later!

Second set has not started so well. Mandy broken twice and Scholsen once, followed by a Scholsen hold and finally Mandy wins a service game to love. Now back on serve *3-3

But Mandy can't hold again.. So far each player has only held once in this 2nd set 3-4*

Second set was a bit of a dog's break-fest, but Many comes through 6-2, 6-4...

Sarah-Beth 0-4

Just seen Mandy's score - sounds like a typical match with the seven breaks in ten games - but Mandy usually wins those contests !

I'm afraid I don't hold out a lot of hope for Beth having watched them both play at Chiswick last year. Urszula probably has the wrong game for Beth.
And it's now 0-5*

Mandy's win today will move her ranking up to about 710 when she regains her ranking week of 27/5. Another win would move her up another 50 places. However, expect her match with Orpana tomorrow to be highly competitive.

Winner's of Mandy's and EWS' matches will play each other in the QF.
