RE: Week 20 - ITF (W25) Obidos, Portugal Carpet

Their success story continues. Their third title (and one RU) in Obidos this year.

F:- Sofia SHAPATAVA (GEO) / Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) 546 (224+322) [3] def Martina COLMEGNA (ITA) / Nuria PARRIZAS-DIAZ (SPA) 655 (240+415) [4] 6-4 6-1

Different partner for Colmegna this week, but only managed two more games.

3 $25K doubles titles already this year for Ms. Webley-Smith.
Plenty of charge still in the batteries it seems, she continues to defy expectations.
Very good.

Mandy's withdrawn today from Spain in Week 22, so we will wait to see where she appears next, and indeed whether it will be on grass or not. She is on entry alt lists for several events the following week, including Subiton, and is in qualifying for Tunisia (W15). The case for playing down a level again would be to boost her ITF ranking to gain her direct entry into W25 events.

Apparently Em's match was officially the longest match of 2019 so far - at 3hours 22mins beating the 3hours 17mins match between Martic and Mladenovich in Istanbul

I originally posted the above a week ago, but I have just seen on the WTA site that the longest WTA match  of the year took place today between Puntiseva and Friedsam - a mere 3 hours and 21 minutes.
