To clarify, in the above context we meant women qualifiers don't get WTA MD points until they win a match, they just get their points from qualifying.
Women players who avoid qualifying by direct ranking entry or WC do indeed get WTA ranking points without having to win a round. For all WTA ranking events ie. 25K and above, they get WTA ranking counters 'just' for starting a R1 match.

If you went to the Fed Cup in Bath and watched matches that didn't involve GB then you could have seen alot of Gorgodze.Seems to have been around for a while but not close to top 100.
It certainly does. Though even if Naiktha is ahead of Katie in the relevant Monday's rankings I still think Katie more likely to get a MD WC
I think that's right too. I think people who've been representing the UK the whole time should get priority over those at a similar level but who've just switched, for at least the first year.
