Djere out so Kyle guaranteed 32nd seed spot before withdrawals for French Open. Could be important but hes going to have to match last years R3 or he wont be seeded for Wimbledon.
Certainly not guaranteed mathematically yet.
Kyle is live ranked 30 on 1325 points. Quite a lot of players can overtake that.
For starters, 4 are Berretini, Kyrgios, Verdasco and Albot, who are all in separate quarters and SF points would be enough for each of them to pass Kyle ( indeed QF would be enough for the first 3 of these ).
And there are other players that give other possible options.
Maybe enough players will be factored out in the next day or two. Ultimately Kyle probably will be seeded for RG, just not guaranteed yet.
Berrettini's still alive after beating Zverev in straight sets (plays Schwartzman in the last 16), as is Verdasco, who has now despatched Thiem in three (plays Khachanov in the last 16), but Kyrgios is out after he defaulted in the third set of his match against Ruud... Albot has still to play Foggy in his last 32 match.
Berrettini & Albot now out, while Verdasco is currently 7-5 2-4* against Khachanov.
Yes, with these main contendors for overtaking Kyle out, he is now guaranteed a French Open seeding.
He is at the moment still live ranked 30.
Verdasco will overtake him if he beats Khachanov to reach the QF.
There only remain 3 others that can overtake him: Struff, Kohlschreiber and Ruud. All 3 need to reach at least the final here ( Ruud needs to win the title ) so apart from that being individually rather unlikely, I believe we can only have 2 finalists at most ( apart from Kohlschreiber and Ruud anyway being in the same quarter so one of these will be a quarter finalist at best ).
So in total 3 can overtake Kyle, which would take him down to WR 33 on Monday. But Anderson is out of the French Open, so Kyle will be seeded there.

That all sorted itself out fairly quickly re Kyle's ranking.
Verdasco beat Khachanov to reach the QF and move ahead of Kyle. But Struff, Kohlschreiber and Ruud all exited at the L16 stage.
The 8 quarter finalists are aged 37 (Fed), 35, 32, 31, 30, 29, 26 and 20 (Tsitsipas).
Federer and Tsitsipas meet in the QFs which feature 6 of the top 8 seeds.

So the youngest beat the oldest today...sort of. Fed withdrew with no balls played. Lots of tennis for him past two days, hope it was just precautionary.
I see some whispered criticism of Kyrgios. Let me announce Im firmly behind him. Great to see someone break the wall of silence and criticise Nadull the GCOAT (C doesnt stand for claycourter).
