Thanks ace. So Kyle not playing, cam is in and Dan, James ward in alts, but no Jay. Presumably Jay is either promised a wcc here or expecting to have to play Wimbledon qualies?

What about Kyle not playing ? Waiting to decide and take a WC here or skipping and playing just queens and maybe surbiton or Nottingham challenger?

Antalya in same week has one top 50, last year there, never caught on playing grass in Turkey at that time. A wag on the feed says maybe Sweden next year, not sure but northern Europe, and I'd personally keep an eye on ilkley for that slot.

Jay should be getting a MD Wimbledon WC imo.

Agreed, I'd have expected he would play eastbourne so presumably he is also getting a wild card here. Dan has entered so maybe the alts list will move enough so he wont need a WC, but I'm sure he will also get one if needs one and perhaps Kyle is also deciding what to do, perhaps hed skip eastbourne if he gets decent run at queens , otherwise ask for a WC to be held back.

Not like Andy will be using any WC's (or can he use PR again!?)
Tennis just isn't the same.

Surbiton initial entry list out and by christ, it's strong. Obviously some of those will withdraw, a lot due to extended RG commitments doubles etc. but only Hev in directly thus far.

Hopefully at least Harriet can get in directly after withdrawals, because 4 MDWCs from Harriet, Swan, Katy, Naiktha and Jodie don't go. Cut off ended at 223 last year, so you'd certainly like to think Harriet would eventually get in and then the MDWCs should sort themselves out.

This year it's taken till nearly Wed the week after the lists first come out before you know who is really likely to stay in the draw or not. I'm not sure why, but even the players guaranteed of MD entry almost anywhere are still entering 4+ tournaments at the outset. When the entry lists are first posted, you just really can't tell, other than that list will be decimated within a few days.

Just having a quick look at the initial entry list this time last year, and the cut off was 129 and the top 8 seeds ranged from 27-98. By the following weak, Boulter had just sneaked in at 152, so Harriet will hopefully do the same with her 143 ranking, and by the time the event came around, 223 got in, so yes, it may well end up similar.

I guess if it is a little bit stronger this year, there'll be more chance of a Wimbledon main draw entrant winning and thus keeping a Wimbledon WC in house, but I suppose, it'll likely reduce a Brit's chance of winning it simultaneously.

Thanks FW - the mens draw has only Tomic in the top 100, compared to many  more in Surbiton. Although last year only Cam and de Minaur where in the top 100.

Out of interest, what has happened to de Minaur , he seems v quiet, is it the clay season or is he injured?
